“Scars Unseen” by Whitney Shurtliff
When we think of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, how He sacrificed Himself for us…we often think of the scars from the nails. In His hands, feet, wrists…He wears those scars forever. For us. But there is a moment of far greater pain, sadness, sacrifice and love that came before those scars. What He felt but could not be seen. What was so real, yet seems unfathomable. It was in that moment that He walked through all the fires of my entire life-long before my life even started. So that He can walk through them with me now, and I’ll never have to be alone through the darkness. He felt unable to keep going. He felt at His end. Yet He persevered. For us.
Greater love hath no man than this…
Remember that we all have unseen scars, but thankfully we are never alone.
